Hello from Ann Arbor, MI
Hi everyone, I'm looking forward to interacting with you. This is the first time I've joined a discussion forum, so that's something.
A bit about me
I recently started getting treatment for long-term depression (YAY!) and... I'm aware of my soul again. So that's been interesting. I'm looking for ways to find peace and stillness like I once did; I know that when I do it'll be like a cloudiness clearing from my eyes so I can see perfectly to the bottom of a crystal clear pond. It's a very distinct feeling.
I'm a very sciency person, in most respects, and I'm also a deeply spiritual person. Sometimes it can feel like I'm mentally torn between two selves. I've found that social science has many lessons that help my spiritual side grow and flourish - it's nice when they work together.
A pagan community I once knew was thoroughly convinced I was an angel. I agree that I generally like helping others around me, and have some innate... gifts along those lines, but I can't really say one way or another. At one point it did feel like I had spiritual wings coming out of my back, so maybe that's something.
Right now I'm looking to recover some... spiritual gifts I once attributed to my faith but now see as independently connected to my soul.
Mostly I'm here to read about peoples lived experiences of their spirituality, especially where magic is concerned.
