Babylon is all over the world, it's false religions/ teachings ,(Rev.14:8-12 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. At Rev.17:1-6 false religion is also known as “SHE” and another name that can't be mentioned here. Which says she “sits on many waters”. Again meaning it's throughout the earth. Today MANY religions don't agree with ALL Jesus said. And MANY don't actually follow his teachings. Rev. Chapter 18 speaks of false religion as “become the habitation of devils”. Satan has play a major part of the way false religious leaders teach. They “commit fornication with the kings of the earth", this include every world leader, whatever they are called. Meaning true ministers should NOT be part of ANY worldly governments. They have to obey certain laws, just as long as it doesn't go against Jehovah God. But MANY religions teach it's ok to fight in wars. Even if one is fighting AGAINST another “christian”.

For anyone who says it's NOT referring to religion scriptures shows different. Read rev. chapter 18 , especially verses 21-23 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all. And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee. And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived, (where do MANY get married?... in places of worships). peace

What you quote has nothing to do with religion. But the "Babylon" as a symbol of Rome (the empire, not the Vatican) does have a primary focus on religion because of the empire cult. Depending on the emperor, subject peoples were required to offer sacrifice to Caesar as god or "Lord." For them, this was like requiring the U. S/. Pledge of Allegiance to be uttered in schools. The Romans didn't really care whether their subjects actually believed in Caesar as god; it was a matter of loyalty. But most Christians refused on the grounds that only Christ is Lord. That's the background of the Book of Revelation.

As well revelation teaches of her---- riding on the back of the beast= untaxed religions---
It teaches---The merchants stand at a distance and mourn the fall of Babylon the great--because their shelves remain full= (no more religious holidays)--this is a worldwide event--if their shelves are full, factory shelves remain full= worldwide layoffs--the start of the tribulation.

Read any academic commentary on the Book of Revelation and see if you can find a single one that identifies the Beast as the Vatican. Remember what I said, "emperor Nero" in Hebrew letters adds up to 666, the sumbolic identity number cited in Rev. 13:18).

Fact--- the 7th and final world power( two horned beast of Rev 13) had to be in place for the fall of Babylon the great to occur= soon.

This is speaking of the real Jesus. There is more than one Jesus being taught in this world. The best way to know the real one--learn every single teaching he gave to us and apply every single teaching he gave to us.

I also liked it. In particular I liked the connection between the prostitute and greed. The issue of greed and our relationship to money was a dominant theme all throughout the NT. The Revelation uses an opposite imagery for the church (or followers of Jesus); they are described as a Bride.

The prostitute promises love but she really only cares about money. The Bride doesn't require money; she is faithful because she chooses to be.
