Since there is no fast way ever to reach the state of godliness, the comparative form faster or superlative form fastest can not apply.

Well, you certainly know how to start a thread!!!

If I look at your question carefully it is very thoughtful and serious.
Indeed, there are "faster" ways to reach a state of Godliness.
Now, I would never say I knew the fastEST. LOL

But, all here might agree -living a life of crime compared to living according to the Golden Rule and praying, etc...would be fastER.
I don't need to split hairs. You get my point, I'm sure.
Others can debate this if they'd like...this is a belief of mine and I could be wrong.

Since you brought up bhakti and jnana yoga - you are thinking along the lines of Union and a method, no?

Naturally, part of the equation is desire, sincerity, focus, one-pointedness, etc...which would be different for each individual, right?
(Then there is out and out Grace.)

If I personally were to chose for myself I would chose Raja Yoga ---Swami Saychitananda said it was like an escalator to ....let's see, did he say God or heaven - I can't recall now.

I would say if you are thinking along the lines of Yoga - they don't call Raja Yoga, Raja for nothing.
Right Shabda? Shabda?

There's alot more that can be said naturally, living a life of focusing on the techniques of Raja Yoga and living a life like Jesus said to in every single detail as a true devotee would and should -giving their will to God...doing only God's Will.
Because I believe you're talking about being here on earth now ---not like some think - of Union with God after death?

Then there's the question of cloistered monastic life while doing meditation and living as Jesus said.

There's alot to discuss.

yes Miss Hepburn?? lol...i will give my view, worded differently, somewhat, but not really unsimilar to your view at all...Raja yoga is Royal yoga, and it is considered very good by many, but the problem i have with it, is that it doesnt concentrate on any realm above the mental, which is not to say that it isnt good, just incomplete (this is only my view, and i dont know everything by any means) and what i find missing in it is the Sound current, the Light lights the Way but the Sound draws you in, is basically the theory of it...it has been called sahaja yoga and also surat shabd yoga, both of which derive mainly from Kabir, and his way did certainly contain Bhakti (Devotion) so these forms of yoga actually contain both Bhakti and Karma (different from both types of yoga, but containing both principles within them)...basically as far as the "fastest" path, it could really be ANY path, the speed of spiritual development depends on the individual's amount of, and willingness to, control one's self, all thoughts, words, and actions, thus removing impediments to the way home (standing in one's own way)...one could be a christian, muslim, buddhist, hindu, it matters not, the Way is contained within all of them, but it does matter how one goes about it, and how much mental, emotional, and physical self control they have, because the Way is hard, and thats the reason we have had so few Saints around the world, compared to the number of the populace at any given point in time... well, i tried anyways, i hope that helps a bit...

The clever one's would say 'you', I mean 'I'.
Unfortunately this is only the smallest part of the answer. What is stopping me is the 'I' stuff I have forgotten or never even recognized as 'I'. Nine tenths of the stopping is found there.

That is the reason why these endless repetitions of "you are already there" and "there is nothing to be done" have no effect. They just keep us from starting what needs to be done and there is plenty to do.
