Affirmations .... do they really work ?

This section of the forum is filled with affirmations and information.....as it is the Affirmations section.

Just curious, do affirmations actually work ?

Lots of posts giving different affirmations for different reasons/ outcomes ... but is there any proof of success ? Or just wishful thinking ? Or training your mind 'to think ' there is some help/ change in health or circumstances that was accomplished by mind games ?

Yes, I can attest to the power of affirmations.. I was able to use them to take my finances from bouncing from pay check to pay check, to being able to be in a more comfortable position...

I have not used them to make more money, just to have more with what I have.

Do I ever know where you're coming from, right...

Thing is, people will have different experiences when it comes to this subject, depending on duality and charge, curses, or even etheric implants, all of which may cancel out the effects of deliberately repeated thoughts for personal improvement...or anything else, for that matter, if someone has tried to shut you down from retrieving your divine power.

Affirmations can help people obtain a healthier state of mind... which can be ever so valuable.

Perspective can be a powerful thing.

Yes, I have found them to work but at times what we set forth to get is too "lofty" from what we truly need so we fail to see them working.

Right now our lotto is high over 50 million I would like to win that of course but do I need all that money for just me ? NO. So when I set an affirmation say around a lotto ( and I have yet to win big ) I set a goal amount to that and something I want that would do some good for others.

Now if I win the 50 million the private jet will soon be arriving to get me away from the computer....lol.

In my view, we are always creating our own reality and co-creating our shared reality. This takes place on all levels of our being - many of which we are not consciously aware of. When we use affirmations - its a boost and focus to that creation that is already occurring - we are focusing our intent on the affirmation to create a certain manifestation in our reality (or shared reality..).

I think by using a focus, like an affirmation, people can have success because they communicate their intention to the parts of themselves they are not conscious of that are also involved in creating. Like an amplifier.

But its individual - I have had it work in the past when it was paired with other practical disciplines - meditation, personal psychological work, diet, exercise, dream work.

Shakti Gawain's book Creative Visualization is a good primer. My fifth grade teacher would love to know I still write 100s of sentences on occasion - this time they have nothing to do with being silent in class. (That backfired.)
