I think the best sleep is a dreamless sleep, the mind takes care of all the rubbish buried within the unconscious, when we don't sleep healthy some of this rubbish makes its way back to the conscious mind, we then try to work out what it all means, we are really just playing in a rubbish dump.

Hi I remember sod all dreams. But the ones I do remember are significant and thats the way I look at it. I used to look at dreams as the subconscious farting, but now I see them as post it notes pertaining to aspects of my waking life. Nothing to jump up and down about simply markers.

Inner, very mysterious about this woman in your dreams ~

I have recently noticed that when I am really tired and only sleep a few hours at a time, that I do dream and I can remember some of the dreams.I just need to get in the habit of writing them down.

Just write down your dreams every morning when you wake up, even if you can't remember everything, and do this for 21 days.

Goodness ROM, lazy boy !! there weren't that many posts to read

and what happens after the 21 days ?

He he, yea i thought it was funny to, of course you can find things in the rubbish dump that seems useful, but it will still be junk from the past, no matter what lovely interpretations we put to it. There are actually some people who's life is built on nothing but dreams, they never want to be here NOW, how sad.

Hello Robert

There is no dreamless sleep or we would not live. We need to enter REM sleep its just maybe like oen says that the brain is working on things and w

e do not need or maybe want to remember that.

There is a lot of "rubbish" that the brain see's in any given day, one just has to turn on the TV and its there so some of that must come into play in our sleep I would think. Flashes of images and the like.

The question always is should we try to figure out what is going on in our sleep.....we sure try I spent a week in a sleep lab once. Hooked to monitors and alarms to wake me when I was dreaming state....WHY really for what....to understand what I already KNEW some was dream and some was the conscious mind "in vissions" I was having.

We so try and so many books are written on dreams and the meanigns. I value but NONE of them....as man is an individual so be our dreams and in that we are free to have things worked out in the way the be best for our mind and soul.

To play in the trash dump.....hmmmm I would almost fancy that....whom is to know what goodies be in me recycling bin.....

Lynn

There was a time in my life where I did exactly that. I was in a dreamless sleep.

It was one of the worst experiences of my life. I likened it to being in a void. It was not a pleasant time. Not something I would ever want to do again.

"one man's junk is another man's treasure" ... at least they say that about garage sales, not sure about playing in the rubbish or translating dreams !

I know very sad, those who prefer not to be here now some are caught in the past, and some are chasing elusive butterflies of enlightenment

How can there be a " dreamless sleep " ? I thought we all have dreams, it is just that we can't always remember them.
