Color Can wearing chakra colours can heal us?

I know that colour has a great affect on us and have personally been soothed by looking at a certain colour.

1) How can wearing a colour, relating to a specific chakra, help to remedy the problems associated with that chakra? Or is it more affective if we see it rather than wear it?
e.g wearing a vivid emerald green top to help if you are hurt emotionally which you would wear since it corresponds to the heart chakra

2) Could this theory work if you wore a colour at night? Maybe not since its our eyes that first take in this colour which then our reaction to it makes us feel better - do you agree?

Yes it can help you. The vibration or ressonance of the colour, brings that into the aura if it is lacking, however, it can also overpower an aura if worn too much or if you already have too much of that colour.

For instance if you felt you needed more spirituality you may go for wearing purple, however this is also known to be a power colour, so can cause problems with arrogance, vanity, pushiness etc.

I choose the colour Im going to wear on the day, so if I need energy I will wear red - but too much red can cause aggression etc so not to be over done; if Im studying then I wear brown which also grounds me and so on.

Iv done this for years and it really works for me. The colours you are drawn to on the day is what you should wear for that day as your aura is lacking in that area but remember not to over do it.

My one concern is when you have to wear a colour for work - ie black in an office. For me black is a protection, but can also be depressive, so I would have to wear a different colour blouse, or wear a coloured scarf etc to overcome this.

Yeah true too that too much of one color can actually overemphasize that chakra.

HELLO FORUM...

In Thailand they have a different color for each day of the week and in India you can tell which deity they follow by the color of the turban ie shiva is red... and widows wear white and buddhists wear a color depending on which sect they are etc ...

Sunday – red
Monday – cream/yellow
Tuesday – pink
Wednesday – green
Thursday – orange/brown
Friday – blue
Saturday – black/purple

interesting questions. I know the colours are significant and good for the chakras, but beware of over doing it. For example, a long time ago, i painted one of the rooms in my house bright red. I had to cover up all the walls with material, because the red, which relates to the root chakra, completely overwhelmed all of my chakras, especially the crown, i could actually feel the energies and vibrations of the colour and it was very draining.

I've heard it is good to dress in orange, if you want to help the sacral chakra, and apparently focus on one at a time.
But I wonder if wearing chakra rainbow coloured clothes would help! Might be a horrible fashion statement though.
