I was just thinking about that song yesterday. It is one of my favorites from my childhood. Not really sure why :)

Greetings Everybody,

DaiBach ... never having read the bible I'd never heard of this Rapture thing or what was in the section called REVELATIONS. However, last night I did see a TV programme all about REVELATIONS. This Rapture thing was brought up and it was stated in this programme that this very word is not mentioned anywhere in the bible.

Newspapers and TV programmes etc do make mistakes with accuracy and sometimes I make hearing and understanding mistakes, so perhaps I got it wrong.

Good afternoon Johnty.

I think the Rapture has been invented quite recently by evangelical Christians in the US. It was very popular a few years ago, and was predicted to happen in 2000 or 2012. I liked the whole concept of the Rapture, that the evangelical Christians would all be taken up to heaven, leaving us ungodly to inherit the earth. I quite fancied living on a planet with less people who were interested in automatic weapons. It would have been good for the environment too, with all those TV pastors no longer flying their Learjets. But, I'm sure they'll come up with another prediction for the imminent, or not so imminent demise of those of us who are Unsaved. So, plenty to look forward to.

On rapture like events , there have been a few of these over the years . A preist /minester would find a date , then set on a mountain top with his following until after a few days they gave up on Jesus .
