touching in dream

Have any of you felt someone you know feel like they are actually touching you in a dream? Someone I know in waking life appeared in my dream, but they came up behind me and put hand on my left shoulder and right arm from behind. I reached back and could feel them too. PHYSICALLY could feel all this. It's happened in other dreams too.

What do you all think this is about when this happens??

Oh yes.

Part of me likes to think that person's soul, higher self, is visiting me in the dream. The interaction is just as real as touching in real life, but more bare and intimate.

Another part of me believes every character in my dream represents an aspect of myself. Then I would consider what that person represents to me and the nature of the contact. If it's comforting, maybe I need to comfort or be comforted by that part of myself. Usually those dream touches are intimate and loving in nature.

Over the years I like to believe both angles and honor those dreams as a great gift. Dreams contain such special moments that may be seldom experienced in waking life.
