I know you are gone, but, maybe someone else can appreciate...

of course I know that all I'm going to get for all the efforts in this life is the promise that if i had done jsut a little bit more, gone just a little bit further, been just a little bit better, I would have achieved whatever dreams I was supposed to have achieved. But of course I will be told at the same time that it is now too late to make a difference.

I've been sitting around for a while just waiting for it. In lieu of continuing. Because, I know darned well it isn't true that if I had done a bit more, gone just a little further, been just a little bit better, I would have actually gotten any further than i have actually gotten in terms of people rewarding me for my effort. That has never been true before and won't be true now, either. It is is only true that I will be TOLD that in an effort to get me back to pushing the envelope.

So I'm just sitting around waiting to be told that if i had done just a little bit more, gone just a little bit further, been just a little bit better, it would have all worked out, but of course now it is too late! So that next time I will be spurred on to try for longer further and harder so that I can be sure to achieve dreams that ironically I don't even want to have.

I have the opposite attitude on life. I don't 'should' on myself anymore.

Whenever those messages enter my mind that I should do or be better, I just look up and say, "I'm here, you're there, we will discuss this when I get there."

It's harder to live here than it looks.
