Animal Guide?

Ok during my spontaneous awakening I had something strange happen (as if being able to see spirits wasn't strange enough) I woke up from a dead sleep when something grabbed my arm and laid it across my chest. I had something hanging off my face and was tied around the back of my head but my I could see through a hole through woven string on what felt like cow hide. There was this big massive thing putting this get up on my face. It was like a mask. It said something but it sounded like a lions growl through the nose but slow but v I knew what it said. It said "she's awake". But he continued. Funny thing. I wasn't scared. Without thought I threw my elbows over to break it's grip. My arms went right through it and it disappears. Could hear little feet run down the hallway. This thing hung around trying to put this mask on me up until the time i stopped resisting, accepted my awakening and stopped calling priests.

I have found a picture of a creature in native American mythology which i have included that is very very similar. Only difference in the head was the one i saw had large tusk like k9s on the bottom jaw with an underbite. It was about 7 foot. My grandmother was full Cherokee so I think it may have something to do with ancestral roots.

I kept seeing eagle and wolf symbols. Even had a eagle land in my backyard around this time. So, I'd like to hear others opinions on this.

I would look at the shamanic meaning of wolf to see the message. http://www.whats-your-sign.com/totem-wolf-symbols.html

What comes to my mind is the Native American mythology of the Skinwalker, in which a person is able to transform into an animal, either fully on four legs, or sometimes bipedal, such as depictions of European Werewolves...If I'm not mistaken though, Skinwalkers are believed to be evil entities who cause harm/mischief to people...I could be mistaken as it's been a long time since I've researched Skinwalkers, but nevertheless might be worth looking into if you're interested in the mythology...

i know that in the World of Darkness (a roleplaying game like D&D)
the skinwalkers are some of the "bad guys" (but even the good guys aren't
so good in that game, lol).
since they didn't seem intent on injuring you, just giving you a thing to
wear... they don't seem so much like bad guys.
