Fish First time

Hello!

I am new on this website and the only reason I decided to make an account is because I am new on this whole spiritual journey and I have so much to learn and one thing that I am very eager to learn is astral projection.
I've tried it many times with guided meditations, but this morning at 2 am I think I somehow did it...?
Here's what happened;
I don't know whether I fell asleep (I was listening to this strong audio for astral projection), but I knew that it wasn't a lucid dream because lucid dreams are very different. I was 'floating' a few cm above my bed but the thing that sort of scared me wasn't that, but it was this weird screeching noise, that I heard in horror games/movies and my body was like glitching? Lagging? It's probably because I couldn't make up my mind; I didn't know if I should go explore the universe or learn more about AP. I got sort of scared, yet I managed to say clearly without any fear ''Go back in my body.'' I thought that this was the right thing to do and at the moment I said it, there was this force pulling me back and I immediately woke up.
Any thoughts?
Any tips?
Or maybe an opinion or an explanation what this was? I am a bit lost even after making a little research.
Thank you if you read the whole thing! :)

Yep, it definitely sounds like you were out of body. Because you're still new to it, it's common to experience a haziness in regards to vision, be unable to recall details, or hear and see strange things. I've encountered something similar to your experience. While attempting to separate and while coming back to my body, I've heard voices, sometimes individually and sometimes it sounds like many voices in discussion. Also, what sounds like radio static, a sound similar to a freight train passing, and a very strange laugh that creeped me out. However, because I had practiced AP many times, I knew it wasn't real. It might sound silly, but when I hear something that I'm not comfortable with, I say (telepathically/in my mind) "You are not real. I am not scared of you." It works every time.

It's common to hear strange sounds and sometimes see or feel a presence. Do not panic. Usually, it is a "side effect" of separating your conscious from your physical body. It can also happen when rejoining your body. Think of it as picking up on "Astral Debris".

When you are ready to end your AP, you can simply think of your physical body and that does the trick. Another tip; Before attempting astral projection, imagine yourself being completely surrounded by a white light and ask for protection from whatever you believe in (God, a higher source, angels, spirit guides, etc.). This will help you to feel strong and sidestep anything that may be perceived as frightening.

Congrats on achieving AP, it is truly amazing. :)

Reminds me of what many who had an NDE report when they left their body, screeching noises, loud sounds like a train passing etc. So yes, I definitely think you were out of your body. Cool!

I often hear voices like that when falling asleep, also sounds like a loud clap or 'krrrr' or something. I guess I leave my body at that moment. "Astral debris", good term!

It also reminds me of my own first experience. I was almost out of body, just my head remind inside my body. I heard the screeching sound you mentioned. It can be very terrifying.
Now, though, I find it very comforting, and it's a sign that I am about to leave my body.
After the first initial experience, I find that the next ones happen a lot more frequently :)

I can't tell you how many times I hear or have read people describing strange voices and sounds right before falling asleep that attribute it to paranormal incidents. I think there are so many people out there picking up on the initial signs of AP, and they don't know it. That and sleep paralysis... Another great precursor to AP, if you stay calm. It can make the separation process so easy.

Thank you so much everyone for the answers!

Currently I'm still trying to AP but I am sort of getting impatient haha.
I have high hopes and I won't give up on practicing.
I'll AP once I am fully prepared and ready!
