Spirit Guides
I just recently started communicating with my spirit guide. I would like to know if there are any simple or basic exercises that I can use to help improve my communication with my spirit guide.
Any suggestions?

The practice of "surrendering" as meant in the spiritual sense. And... to focus the awareness to the present moment like meditating on being aware of whatever happens in your mind. And... meditating in the sense of detaching / letting go may also be good.
