I look at it from this perspective.

Spirit is everywhere to varying degrees. From the whirling little atoms in rocks and minerals and all through the plant kingdom and animal kingdom. All is from and a part of God/Creator. I often give thanks for the food I eat and the things I use.The air I breath. The water I drink. You never know where Gods help will come from.
But the most freeing is finding God within.
Not sure if this answers your question, but it is my belief system that has been formulated over 30+years practicing Native American ways and wandering down many spiritual paths.
I should also add I did just watch the video and I totally agree with everything said on it.
The light is in me it is in you and everything.I had an NLE near life experience as I call it.

I believe God lives inside us all. Many mystics say that we can know God by knowing ourselves and this is done by looking inwards. This suggests that we are God and it also suggests that we know God by experiencing our higher selves because looking inwards is a meditative experience and through meditation we can experience our higher nature. Some say everything is made of light. I don't know whether that's true or not. It could be something else than light.

This is a really good question and I still try to make sense of the answer I receive when I asked it... I found a video that explains it better than I can do for now. Unfortunately, I am still new to this forum and I am not allowed to send external URL

On youtube, do a search for :

"I Went To The Other Side!" A Near Death Experience! (True Story!)

From:
Strange But True Stories!

I will try to post the link when my account will be unlock:)

I hope it will help you to find your answer

I have doubts about this story.

Firstly: it was experienced by an 8 year old, in 1965. It is impossible for someone so young to have had that level of thoughts and perceptions. At the very least the story is very embellished. Also the vividness and detail of the recall, after many years, is unlikely.

Secondly: the story touches a lot of well know ideas widely shared by the community interested in "spirituality", which makes it more of a wishful thinking story than an account of an actual experience.

Many of the ideas presented are, in my opinion, far from what-it-is.

Thank you inavalan for posting the link:)

It's important to keep a critical mind and I like the respectful way you develop your argumentation:)

When I saw the video, I was surprised he didn't mention the angel that usually comfort you or escort you when a thing like that happen... Maybe it's because his time didn't come but still that part feels weird to me. Maybe his spirit exits his body for protection and his people or tribe pull him away to make sure he would not be traumatized about what the medical expert had to do in order to bring him back. I know time passes differently where he was but it almost feels like if they keep him busy just to keep him busy... Other people also had a similar experience where they learn thing we are not allowed to bring back and it's usually removed from there memory before they wake up at the hospital... they only remember floating over and interesting color the human eye can't see... I can be wrong about all that, I really wish to meet that person one day to know for myself.

When you mention the time and age, you are right, that was a long time ago and he was young. But it's hard to know how old a soul is or who help it... One of my friends' kid is only a few years old and he is a dream walker since some time now. He also shows sign of other aptitude and if those are confirmed, if he desires, his training will start soon...The kid is not even 8 years old... His 2 older sibling show different aptitudes too but not strong enough to be trained yet... if they desire, in time, they will also have the opportunity to learn more... I also know someone who started his training at the age of 4 but even if I have so many stories to share about how the age of the body is not important. Let just resume by saying your soul learn and remember things in a different way your brain does... sometimes I think even our heart does a better job than our brain but this is only a personal feeling;)

I think it would be also normal to mix some of those memories with the cliche you are talking about if he never travels again after that experience... But you also have to keep in mind, some of those cliches exist because people experience them:) He also omitted few details about the flora that would have marked him, base on the realms he describes... I think he avoids those details because he would have been judged crazy too quick... He kind of make it clear he wants people to listen to his story... maybe a bit too much?

I do not want to imply you are a skeptic and please don't think I am judging you in any way... I honestly like the way you build you argumentation... I only think you bring a nice opportunity to abord another delicate subject... In general, a lot of skeptics ask for something different. Something to prove the experience is true and unique... but as soon as one of those stories come with something new, in the blink of an eye, the new information is used to discard the validity of the entire story. Over time, more people provide the same information and that information becomes another cliche... the loop just restarts again... we can't seem to exit that vicious cycle and people end up closing themselves by fear to face the situation. Unfortunately, this is only how things are in our society...

Now I suggested this video because I like the way the story was told... To be totally honest, I don't really think it's important if it happens or not... Like a perfect women's skirts, the story is long enough to cover the subject but short enough to be interesting. If that story never happens, the person who came with it did an amazing job ;) It resumes really well the answer I receive when I asked the same question.

ps: the skirt part is not from me but it's so true I had to use it:)

I personally don't have a problem with the strange but true story.

These things are hard to put into words.

If it is true or not matters not to me.

I can tell my story in many different ways and it would still be true
but still not described in full. Words are so limited.

The problem with clichés is that they affect expectations, and consequently one's spiritual experience.
