I've heard more than a few interviews with David Paulides and his research is very interesting to me. To my knowledge, he has never weighed in with his own theory or belief about why these disappearances happen. He does say that he doesn't think it's bigfoot ( a lot of the disappearances happen in national parks) or aliens.

He also gives a list of common characteristics of the victims. Usually in men their 20's, of above average intelligence, accomplished, and they don't fit the "normal" suicidal profile. Scary stuff but I have nothing to worry about seeing that I'm in my 30's, of average intelligence, unaccomplished, and suicidal. Just kidding about that last one.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

we have an ongoing mystery with 61 dead young men pulled out of a manchester canal in the last 6 years, most of them have come out late from a Bar nearby, it's a lot of young men to find dead in a nearby canal, nobody can find any signs of foul play though.
