1. treat yourself with reverence
2. acknowledge your intent for communication
3. start a dream journal
4. make time for self reflection or meditation
5. trust your intuition
6. heal any repressed emotions if they come up

I have no advice, but am happy to talk about it, and will go so far as to say, everyone has their life path and has to find a way. That's the main reason I don't give advice and only seldomly make any suggestions, but I think talking things through can help to clarify things in our own minds.

I understand that when a person is experiencing some uncertainty or lost or a lack of direction, that can be unsettling, and it makes it very tempting to grasp hold of what others recommend or advise, but my beleif is that noone knows what's good for you better that what you do and you are the one to take mastery over your own life.

I understand that isn't an immediate answer which you can use, but according to what I just said, I don't have your answers and you don't have mine... but I'm happy to talk about it none-the-less.

Only your feet can tell you about your true path, keep walking ! :)

By walking you'll discover yourself everyday a bit more, this will lead you to the realization that all of us change, evolve and re-discover ourselves.

I found guided meditations helped me to do this. The ones I like the most are from Sanaya Roman, though I started with Sylvia Browne's first. I also like Getting Into the Vortex by Abraham, which you can find on You Tube.

There are a few that I can do in my sleep now - by that I mean I don't need to hear the meditations to do them.

The easiest is to close my eyes, and I always ask for protection from my guides and angels, and then I picture myself flying over a landscape and the freedom that comes with that, and then I fly higher so I am flying in the sky and then I come to my guides room, where I "land" and my guide greets me and speaks to me. I can decide to stay and visit or I am free to roam even higher. The more that I did this, the easier it got, and one day I popped out into the Universe -- stars everywhere, and I danced like I was a fairy -- it was the coolest feeling, of being weightless but still in form.

this is how I get in touch with my higher self. I take it literally :)

Another way to go about it is to picture a small ladder in front of you, and take a few steps up the ladder, and pull yourself onto a landing. On this landing you can put whatever landscape you want, you can build whatever town you want, you can put whatever you want on it. Being in this space, just one or two steps up higher in your consciousness than your normal waking consciousness helps free something that is stuck in the physical and it is much easier to connect to your higher self -- by allowing yourself to "go higher".

It's quite simple - at all times follow the path with the highest excitement. It doesn't have to be anything major because most of the time our choices are very ordinary such as: do the washing up, go for a walk, ring so and so, etc. But, if you always choose the one with the highest excitement then you will be in alignment with your life's purpose.

This is because excitement (or passion) is the body's indication that you are in harmony with your higher self. More, once you start to do this, your higher self and/or the universe will see that you wish to be on the right path and so will present you with amazing synchronicities that lead exactly where you need to be...

The problem is, we are programmed not to do this but to follow what society demands.

Allow yourself to desire it as much as you can. If you do that, eventually you'll find your way.
