Awakening differences; Descending & Ascending

Hi everyone,

What are the differences between an ascending & descending kundalini awakening?

I have read that a descending awakening is much safer and I have not found any particular reason to believe it to be safer than an ascending one.

Anyway, I know nothing about them and am curious about the differences between them.

By decending kundalini awakening it means that the energy has manifested in higher chakras :crown ,brow,throat first and has started moving downwards below heart chakra.
Primarily it is an act of grace by realized masters,shaktipat,
Ascending awakening means the kundalini has been stirred up at base chakra where it was lying dormant.This is a result of deep yearning for truth,or can also be a spiritual emergency.The energy tries to reach towards higher chakras

A descending awakening is much safer because a light body has already been developed to receive grace and assimilate energy from above and move downwards
It is same as descending a rock mountain the climber has to put less effort when compared to effort put in climbing

Hi anand,

could you elaborate more on "grace". Why would it be a grace? I was searching for more information on descending awakening and many stated it was a "grace" too.

Is a light body the same as an etheric body?

Yes a light body is same as etheric body .You can feel grace in the form of a cool breeze,visions,vibrations and you can have a taste of it if you have ever received shaktipat/energy transmission from a master.

yes it is kind of a team effort. the system is prepped by the effort of the person and this attracts the grace giving spirit.

Grace is basically 'divine blessing'. Energy streams down from the crown because it's imparted by an ascended master who gives you 'grace'.

So with descending kundalini you have help. With ascending kundalini you're all on your own. That's why descending is safer.

Descending grace isnt really anything to do with kundalini. Its something else entirely. Its sometimes referred to as the descent of shakti which would be why people get it mixed up with kundalini because kundalini is also referred to as shakti. But shakti is just another name for powerful energy. Kundalini is waking up your own dormant energy. Descending shakti is receiving energy from outside. Its safer because the incoming current will match itself to what your system is capable of handling whether thats because its given by an ascended master or if you connect to source yourself the size of the link will determine how much can flow through. Open a bigger link and you get more energy. Kundalini doesnt do that. There is no restriction on the incoming flow because it comes from within.
