If you have never 'talked' to a tree before here are some simple steps
1. Take a nature walk. Use your body to become aware of the vibrations around you emanating from the trees and plants. Let your body guide you to a tree to talk to. It may be the biggest or the smallest, it doesn't matter. Let go of 'thinking' with the mind and 'feel' with your body.....

That is lovely. I've always felt connected to trees. Several big, old trees were cut down in my neighborhood because telephone/electrical wires were becoming entangled in them. I feel like someone kicked me in the stomach when I pass by and see only stumps where they once graced the skies. I touch them and apologize to them for mankind's disrespect. I'm sure some people think I'm crazy.

I've never tried reaching out to trees and plants, but I have an admiration and appreciation for them.
I have yet to speak with them, but I do know that the flowers and plants have voices. I am going to try this, thank you :]

I will try this! Can you do it with other plants and living things? Animals?

talking to trees
If you're new talking to trees. Sometimes it helps to find trees that are used to people. For example if you're in the middle of a large forest and want to talk it will be harder to find one that will. Trees in parks and my favorite place cemeteries are the easiest to talk with. The reason i like cemeteries its more peace full and easier to clear yourself there vs. A park. it is possible to do it with other living things. It just takes practice like anything else. Before you know it they'll come to you. I'll never forget the first time an American beech let me feel its pulse.

You're not For around 20 years, I had a willow growing in front of my flat. I loved when on windy nights its branches were hitting my windows. I loved this tree although I never really communicated with it consciously. But it was there and it felt familiar to have it there. And then one day they cut it out because...it was making one of the apartments too dark inside. So I cried like a baby when I saw the empty spot. They didn't even leave the trunk... I don't know what made me more sad the reason or the lack of the big beautiful tree.

That's why i plant trees in random places. Hopefully one day someone will say that about a tree i planted. Also i like to think a little piece of me will carry on with that tree. Right now i have 60 ginkgo trees i grew from seed i will plant next fall. After nursing them for 3 years in pots and as long as i can when planted. I just hope they'll reamber me hundreds of years from now.

I have been planting acorns in areas where oaks used to grow for about 20 years. I will check them in my next life.

I met a beautiful old mimosa in the town I grew up in that I'm glad to call my friend. She(?) doesn't say much, but I hug her everytime I see her, and I feel like she hugs me back when I sit in her branches. Like a cool old grandma haha. I met her and several other tree-friends in a little thicket/abandoned park a couple years ago.
There are several other mimosas, including a young one in the middle of a clearing that I meditate and spar with my lover in. A lot of cypresses too. Last year, some saplings in a swampy area got cut down by someone, and I cried so hard I had to flee the scene of the crime. But there's new growth from the trunks and it makes me so happy! I always cry when a tree is cut down, like the oak by my mom's apartment that got struck by lightning.
And there's also a cranky old pine that always trips me or sends bees after me unless I bring an offering for her soil to compost. Not sure she considers me a friend, but she's pretty cool. The pine resin helps to close up cuts I get in the woods. Oh I talk to so many more trees than humans....
