Your favourite stories?

Which are your favourite stories? They could be from any source; like books, film, word of mouth, urban myth etc.

One of my favourites is "A Christmas Carol" by ****ens. It kind of sums up so many of my feelings. Its wonderful.

There are others but I need to think about my own question a bit in order to remember which ones.

LOL! A Christmas Carol is a classic. I would definitely say that is one of my favorites.

For some reason this kid popped in my head. I really loved Pierre as a kid. He was such a stink meaner

I was a kid in the 80's, this movie was probably my favorite as a kid too. "An American Tale". Fieval!

Cutest song ever. All together now.."awwww"

For the Holidays, my pick would be "It's a Wonderful Life" -

For the rest of the time, two pop up that I dig are Erin Brockovich and Limitless - also Contact.

(I think I'll have to go to myspace and just make a list of movies that I dig.)

Stories...all I could think of were movies, Jan.

There are so many amazing stories out there in the world. I find it hard to believe that I AM the source of all these stories!!!! In the sense that these stories are reflections of my own self - and not of something even bigger.

They Wizard of Oz every thanksgiving, which is today! Tonight at 8PM. This is hands down my personal favorite holiday flick. Growing up, watched this every Thanksgiving with my older siblings.

Oh, good modern day animation flick that really captured my heart. I may have to buy it tonight. Rise of the guardians. Excellent story line for a animation. Love love love it. Good graphics too if you have the TV for it.

Perhaps even more so than "A Christmas Carol" I love the Narnia Books. Wonderful stories.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The Roald Dahl book, not the much later movie. I read this book many many times as a kid. It was a wonderful story of opposing emotions and situation; kindness, hunger, greed, vengeance, nastiness, wonderful machines, wealth and poverty, the squirrels and the oompa loompas and the chocolate river. I will never see the movie because it cannot possibly be better than the fantastic pictures I still have in my mind.

Same here. I also enjoy Conversations with God, Men of Honor, and Soul Surfer. All based on true stories.
