Consciousness outside the body does not in any way mean consciousness exists after death necessarily??

As long as we are hypothesizing, your premise is based on an idea the brain is a transmitter. What if the brain is a receiver and your consciousness is the signal your brain receives. This would suggest the body is not needed at all for your consciousness to exist much like your car's GPS is not needed for orbiting satellites to transmit positional signals

I kind of dread this happening somehow. How then could a mind generated by a living brain, continue existence without one??

There are examples of yogis who after their body had aged considerably, take on a younger body , usually of a young person who had died recently.

Prabhakara Siddha Yogi is a famous yogi in southern India who lived through centuries in this manner. He shed his old body and took on a younger one.

I also remember a case in India where a funeral pyre of a young person's body was about to take place through cremation. When the fire was about to be applied, an old man shouted not to burn the body and walked swiftly to the place, to everyone's surprise. A moment later, the old man dropped dead while the young man's corpse got up , shocking all the people, and ran away from the funeral pyre. Bewildered, the people over there cremated the old man's body instead. I think this is recorded in Swami Rama's book, "Living with the Himalayan masters. "

What this shows is that consciousness continues to exist even if the body is destroyed.

Science at this point of time, have not come to this state of understanding , and hence many erroneously believe that consciousness comes to existence with the brain. The brain is but an instrument for consciousness for the supreme purpose of flowering or enlightenment and thus liberate itself from the bondage of gross matter through elimination of karma.

Agreed, except for that last part about bondage. It seems improbable to me that gross matter has the desire and ability to imprison consciousness.

The brain does not produce a conscious, imo. a conscious comes with the soul, it is the intelligence... or light of the soul/energy. Consciousness works with the brain since the brain physically controls the body. You do not have a physical body on the other side, you have a "light" or electromagnetic body. It has the shape of a body, but it can change form like energy can. It contains no brain, or other organs...but still has a level of consciousness depending on each persons spiritual or soul progress. The only way I can describe it to match what I saw is this....its like looking at your shadow on the wall, but it isnt dark, its bright...full of different colors & light. Thats what you would resemble on certain frequencies. Atleast the one I was one...Im not sure what it looks like once you go into the light, it might make a more solid form or lighter form. I assume that the form a soul takes depends on the frequencies it passes through from the material world into the higher levels of energetic consciousness.

See, it is a bit like spirit/consciousness over matter. Each tries to assert dominance over the other.

The strong soul dominates matter whereas the weakling will be dominated by matter. It is a bit like a process . The energies released by the stronger soul by conquering the bondage of matter increases vibrational frequency of the universe , which is a good thing. It helps other souls as well.

Energy/matter is what is known as Maya in Hinduism. In a positive sense, it is also known as shakti.
