The New Age habit of saying "It's all up to you, so deal with it!"

This really annoys me. The New Age points the finger at me and says "I AM real". I don't feel it! I don't feel real enough to be God.

The New Age says I am 100% responsible for my life. Well, my life is in a mess and so is the world. What on earth am I supposed to do about it?

It annoys me that some people who have achieved success point the finger at everyone else and say "you are God; deal with it!"

I have a tenuous grip on reality. Sure it helps me to know I Am. But really; how on earth am I supposed to be 100% responsible? I am a human being! Not a robot or God.

Wake up people!

I don't think it's necessarily people who have achieved success ...
I think it's said when a believer is having a good day ...
It's the reason I added the topic "Spiritual Platitudes" awhile back ...
Not to worry, some of those people may very well have their day of experiencing a life shattering event that forces them to confront their beliefs ...
It appears those who are suffering near by or worldwide have not impacted their beliefs &/or taken into consideration ...
Its best to move on & not concern yourself w/beliefs that are not of your own ...

Religious people ask God to help them deal with life difficulties.
Whereas spiritualists look to themselves: self-examination, meditation, etc.
Some people go to a counselor and engage in talk therapy.
Some just escape through drugs and alcohol.

Those are the options, it's a matter of choosing one.
You say you don't know what to do about life being a mess.
Finding fault with others won't get you anywhere.
And your annoyance is yours to deal with, not anyone else's.

This interests me. The New Age says "I AM real". I don't feel it. I don't feel real enough to be God.

The New Age says I am 100% responsible for my life. Well, my life is in a mess and so is the world. What on earth am I supposed to do about it?

Some people who have achieved success say "you are God; therefore you have the inner power to deal with whatever life difficulties you encounter."

Sure it helps me to know I Am. But really; how on earth am I supposed to be 100% responsible? I am a human being! Not a robot or God.

Let's help each other wake up, people!

You are asking for help or guidance of some kind. I haven't been of much help to you in the past, so I am a bit humbled by that remark. It makes me realize I could have been more helpful, without the need to be antagonistic.

But you see Honza, that's it. That's life. Nobody has all the answers, we're all just trying our best. We're all learning. And you just taught me something. Thank you.

It is a paradox. Life is hard. We can accept responsibility for our life. But does that not imply that *we* are the ones who are hard? There are many things in life which make me want to recoil. I don't particularly want to BE those things. Yet that is the best approach according to some. To BE everything. Its infuriating.

In my humble opinion New Ageism only promotes over-optimism while those who practice it have no clue about what other people are going through. Another aspect of it that deeply annoys me is the whole self-worship concept. Sorry to say but we are not gods but wretched mortals stuck together in an overpopulated and out of control ant hive full of despair, misery, and darkness. Humanity only destroys and hurts each other while New Ageism says we are all one and connected? Thanks but no thanks, I'd rather not be associated with the rest of this fallen world. And then I'm not even speaking yet about blaming everything on karma, something that's also not uncommon within the New Age community.

P.S No shots fired at anyone, I respect everyone's beliefs but personally I am not really fond of New Ageism and the reasons why I have stated above.

Drinking beer and listening to metal will lead to certain definite life views, yes. Really truly understand you Bro, my 20s were AWFUL. I call it my black hole period. Then I came to an understanding of GLORIOUS BENEFICENT SPIRIT. Yea, I'm an optimist. Big time.

Well for your information I only drink when around friends and to socialise, NOT to get depressed. And as for metal, the bands I listen to lyrically focus on epic fantasy and history, not suicide and depressive stuff. So if you think my life views are based upon my life style then you are wrong, my life views are based on the things I've experienced and went through from childhood until now.

But okay then, what is this ''glorious beneficent spirit'' you speak of?
