Spirit Guide Sparrow indicates that the great white light is our spiritual "Home"and represents the "resonance of Prime Creator, the residence and resonance of sublime divine unconditional love."

Everyone will experience something different when they pass over,i have had three NDE and i dont see a light,i saw a bridge wooden bridge well kept gardens and flowers of every color you can think of, that was on one of them when i have crossed people over, i see a wooden bridge we stand on one side their spirit families stand on the other,
other times i was met by my guide and was told to go back as it wasnt my time, other time it was my grandmother telling me i had work to do here before i could go back, they are my experiences but it will be different for others,

I think it is so that our passing and our journeys will be unique.

But for me, this "Light" (so far) is something I feel with Heart and whole Being, and not something I see. Any "Light" which presented itself to me would have to resonate within my deepest feelings or it would just be a light.
It is the most ever-flowing unconditional Love of a very pure and fine quality, yet something which just knows you in every fibre and passes no judgement -only Love...it is the sweetest Peace, it is a sense of utter completeness. "All is well" in the deepest sense.
My words are not enough to describe it.

I shall never be looking for "Lights" necessarily. I shall be looking for those qualities. No Light display which does not contain them will have me following it.

I definitely accept that our journey, including our passing, is, and will be, as unique as we are. There is no better or worst; no judgment, just the way in which we unfold ourselves.

In my opinion an OOB or NDE which projects conscious awareness into the astral realm may not involve seeing light; there are many, many realms, and if it has form, a bridge, street, another person, etc., in my opinion there is a high possibility that it is within the astral realm.

Light can be seen, sensed, or felt; light as in weightlessness is different than light as in radiance. To feel a weight lifted from your shoulders is an example of feeling light. Although there are meditation techniques where a person can bring their inner light to the surface and physically see it within themselves.

An expansion in consciousness may, or may not, include seeing light; it may include an expanded awareness without the presence of physical light. The term “enlightenment” literally means to be filled with light, and I do find it interesting that a light bulb is often used to symbolize a brilliant insight or idea.

There are so many experiences, in this world and beyond, that I don’t think we can pigeon hole them and say that this is the way it is or that is the way it is. As is written in the King James Bible; “there are many mansions in my Fathers house.”

This is one of the reasons why it is difficult to tell a person what is going to happen to them when they die; because our death will be as unique as we are, as unique as our life has been. Now I do understand that certain religions want to tell us what happens in the afterlife, but things in this life, or beyond, do not just happen in one way, as death is just a continuation of life with all of its' various nuances, etc. In my opinion.

Oh well, you would love Anthony Borgia's "Life in the Unseen World"...
NDEs are great..but
they are like entering the foyer and not going within the Mansion itself.
Read from someone that is 'there' now on the Other Side communicate with his friend another medium/psychic.

The movie "What Dreams May Come", Robin Williams, et all was based on these messages.

With respect; on one hand I might ask how do you know that he is there? An on the other hand I might say that we are all “there!” It is just a matter of waking up to what is and has always been. The veil which divides this world from the next, in my opinion, is nothing more than an imaginary line. Our very own experience, no matter how slight, is much more valuable to us than that of someone else's experience. Just offering another perspective.

That makes sense to me. In my NDE, there was a "barrier" I couldn't or wasn't allowed to cross. I've researched NDEs, many describe such a barrier, but certainly not all, but that's because no two NDEs are identical. I like your analogy and think it's an excellent one.
Also, it makes sense to me the reason no two NDEs are identical is because consciousness (soul, spirit, whatever) still has a connection to the ego. The ego dies when consciousness is finally and completely severed from the ego, and there is no chance for it to return to the human body host it once inhabited.

Yes, a thin veil or line between the 2 'places'.

I have read a few commentaries from Eastern yogi-types explaining this is what Jesus meant when he said
those that mourn will find peace or be comforted...because it is possible to still contact them.
Wisely, they also say...Ask any clergyman have they found a way to comfort a grieving widow or mom?
You can't, lemme tell ya!

But, with this possibility or knowledge that they could connect with them still ...there would be comfort.

Another book I read in the 70s is from Arthur Ford a medium and friend of Ruth Montgomery...haha,
one day he took over her hands while she was typing ...Writing "Hi, Ruth. This is Art."
He answered every question about the Other Side she could come up with ...every Tues at 11 am, as I recall...
except when she was hungover. Lol!

The book is "A World Beyond" by Ruth Montgomery.
Funny, all these books say the same thing...also the movie, "The Astral City: A Spiritual Journey",
based again on a medium's contact with those there. Chico Xavier

Miss Hepburn, I am somewhat of a Gnostic and rely more on my actual experience than I do books; as my life is not about what I have read rather it is about what I have experienced.

I respect what you are sharing but I feel like speaking in an original voice, my own about what I have experienced, takes precedence over just repeating what someone else has said. Again, I mean no disrespect to you and what you have shared.

I guess my aversion comes from religious dogma that people feverishly repeat from books. Don’t get me wrong, I do occasionally read books but books are not the authority in my life. I was blind for about 5-years an books were put on audio tape for me, today they are called “audio books,” but back then putting books on tape was a rather new concept.

We can read a book and get some peace an enlightenment from doing such, the scriptures for instance, the Gita, Bible, Koran, Ramayana, and others can be comforting, but they do not compare with actual experience, actual inner knowledge.

Books can be wonderful guides which give a recipe for preparing a meal, and while the recipe may sound delicious and make our mouth water it is the actual meal which will fill us up. Books point to something but it is us who must actually take the journey. I have been doing quiet meditation for more than 30-years and have gained a lot of insight from such and feel like experience, in my opinion, is the best teacher.

Again, I really want to stress that I mean you no disrespect. I imagine there are all sorts of travelers posting here on this website, approaching the path in all sorts of ways. Some do believe that they are walking a spiritual path but I have come to know that I am my own path, and how I unfold myself is how I walk that path. Each person is the actual path which they walk.

Thanks to all who responded on this thread. I just read the responses today.

I have been researching the afterlife in a systematic way since I lost my greatest treasures in this life. Also, after facing many deaths, right after another, and having other "abilities" arise...I take nothing at face value anymore.

Much of my time for the last 4 years has been spent in Grief forums where I have talked with many, found many spiritual / mystical experiences, as I was trying to make sense of what happened to me and my most beloveds.

I agree that first hand stories often have the most primacy, those in our circle.

I think many now, are able to share freely, the cat is out of the bag! The internet helps tremendously in the dispersement of these individual tellings of people's experiences; and I believe will lead to greater understanding. My own uncle, now transitioned, had an OOB experience while very ill in the 1950s. In those days, you were very careful who you shared with!

I have noted that when some passed, that they are surrounded in a Light, (my personal forum leader had that with her daughter); and many experienced precognitive dreams and knowings, including myself.

These experiences did not fit into any framework that I could figure out. They were beyond religion, beyond beliefs and beyond restrictive group thinking.

I have some interesting talks with bereaved authors who lost children, what those final lead up hours were like. I believe Starman, you also noted some of that.

This light was also in my own very short experience.

I do believe there are many different spaces/places in the non-physical. Some are more earthlike, others not.

In reading those facing death, or very close too, I notice a sacredness in the event that is hard to put into words. Often, the experience (or the "landscape" of it) does not fit neatly into any box, other than the sense of otherness and perhaps peace/tranquility, sometimes seeing others or higher level being providing guidance.

--The Light Beings or Master Light Being (God - Creator? Source?) that I am searching about -- I do believe that because of the difference in our world vs that world, perhaps that is why people/other Beings have this brilliance and radiance.

I also do understand that in that non-physical domain, we are not restricted to our present form, though many present themselves as such.

(An aside, My mom had an experience with a spirit person many years ago, she looked and felt solid to her, just as in real life, consequently, my mom held very non-traditional views as a result). I think the person just came back because they could as I think many people who lose their outer shell do, not to be scary, they are just people minus a physical shell.

I am hoping to share a bit of this journey, as it is hard for me to make sense out of it myself.
