Haha, if by 'dealing with a man who has more manly, aggressive nature in a feminine way' means "I do not have time for this bull**** anymore" then yes, I already know who you're talking about and I can see this happening

I'm looking forward to return to sport (currently sidelined due to injury, but rehabbing) and I've been working on improving my social networks this year.

Not really. The cards ask you to choose wisely (7 cups) and stay aloof for a while (rest and rejuvenate/4 swords). Take time off to heal from an emotional trauma and plan ahead wisely before making a move. D probably looks at you as an advantageous association. Though you no longer are as naïve or gullible as they probably think , yet any move to contact them maybe seen as a possible sign of weakness?(not sure about this).
