whoo I cooked a steak today!

I can't remember the last time I cooked a steak (let alone eaten one). This very possibly could be the first red-meat steak I've ever cooked myself.

The local discount grocery store has incredibly-priced food - often oversupply from larger grocery chains - so I picked up three little lamb rump steaks for $6 AUS (which is like $3 US). Bit of olive oil, salt, pepper, and voila! Had it with veggies and felt thoroughly impressed with my protein + fibre spread.

Dessert: A gorgeous little dark chocolate + salted caramel something with what felt like a vanilla mousse from same discount grocery store. I can't decide if the little jar it came in is a votive candle holder or a shotglass - regardless, will be re-using and commend the manufacturer for clever purchasing strategy!

Apre-dinner: Cheese (Manchego, spanish 100% sheep milk cheese) with brown rice crackers, and big seedless white grapes, and diluted red wine

YUM YUM A FANTASTIC DAY
I am a sucker for savoury things so usually go back to savoury, even if I've had a cake or something for dessert

We had one of my hubby's favorites last night a poblano pepper sauce over chicken breast.

It's about 50 degrees outside and windy. A blustery day. My dinner should reflect that.

I am reheating my yesterdays leftovers for late breakfast. We went to the CheeseCake factory. First time. I actually really liked it. NY strip and a few sides. Really good.

Today I plan on making tons of braised kale and broccoli --- Kids favorite!
