Hiding Relationships?
I reconnected with a longtime male friend (btw we are in our late 40's). He was very sweet, we got together a few times, text several days a week, talk on the phone. He is divorced and we talked about that and about relationships in general. He said he dated but was not committed to anyone. He would talk about a "friend" occasionally.
Recently I found out he's been in a serious relationship with a woman for a couple years.
Why would a man hide something like this?

Because he's trying to "get it off" with you - that's what I'd think in these circumstances. I mean, why else do men do this stuff?
However, it's easy to fall for the "she said, he said" tattle and a little deeper investigation may be worth it if you're interested in him. A few questions - like, how soon after his divorce did he get into this one? (i.e. was she on the rebound?) Did he file proceedings or the ex-wife?
.
Good luck.

As a man I'd really love to contest this, but I'm struggling to do so with a straight face :o

Another view could be that he isn't happy in his current relationship and is making lousy decisions about handling leaving her and getting involved with you.
Or maybe the relationship isn't serious. Which still makes no sense because he could have just told you about it. unless he didn't in fear of you not wanting to be involved with him. which is still deceptive regardless.
Either way there is still the issue of lying by omission. I would bring it up and feel out what he tells you instead of listening with your mind.
If you can watch his eyes and hands during his explanation. they usually tell all in situations of stress.

why did he do that? it could be that maybe he doesn't want to tell you and just have two womans in his life or maybe more, if so thats not cool of him, untrustworthy. Or maybe he wanted to tell you but really did not know how to bring it up and his confused what to do about the situation he finds himself in.
One of those ideas, maybe theres more can't think of any atm.
