Sharing large images
It is a common belief that large images consume a lot of storage space.
This is a wrong assumption.
When we share an image, only the link to the image is stored by SF. So, sharing large images is not a problem.
My 2 cents.

Putting a large Image on the site does take up space
That is why if the image is too big we ask that they make it smaller

Native is talking about if the image is uploaded to the site.......
Your right, simply displaying a link is not a problem........ (Nothing is stored on the server)

It's too large and messes up the whole page. Please don't do it.

I found this on the Web, embedded images are not stored on the forum, they are stored on the image hosting site. Only the link to the image hosting site is stored on the forum.
From Google Bard:
On most forums, only the link to the image is stored, not the image itself. This is because storing the images would take up a lot of disk space, especially if the forum is very active and has a lot of members. Storing only the links allows the forum to use less disk space and also makes it easier for the forum software to display the images.
Here's how it works:
When a user uploads an image to the forum, the forum software generates a unique URL for the image and stores the image on a server.
When the user posts the image in a thread, the forum software inserts the URL into the post.
When a user views the thread, the forum software retrieves the image from the server and displays it in the post.
This method means that the forum does not need to store a copy of every image that is uploaded. Instead, it only needs to store the URLs, which are much smaller in size. This saves a lot of disk space and makes it easier for the forum software to scale.
However, there are some forums that do store the images themselves. This is usually done for forums that have a very large number of images or for forums that want to have more control over the way the images are displayed. However, storing the images themselves can take up a lot of disk space and can make it more difficult for the forum software to scale.
In general, storing only the links to the images is the best way to handle images on a forum. This method saves disk space, makes it easier for the forum software to scale, and does not affect the way the images are displayed.

Only this is stored:

You can see the link to the image when you quote the post with an embedded image.

I wouldn't share too large images because they would be ugly.
So don't worry.
