Ayurveda
Ayurveda is a system of medicine that originated in India several thousand years ago. The term Ayurveda is of Sanskrit origin made up of ayur, which means life, and veda, which means science of or knowledge. Basically, Ayurveda means "science of life."
From time to time, in any area of human knowledge, there arises a thinker- a true master who marks a milestone in the discipline. This is the case of World Famous Ayurvedic Specialist Khandani Vaid Harbhajan Singh Yogi. He Published lots of books viz- Sex Guide, Garba Gyan, Jiwan Sudhar,Yogi de Nuske, Sehat Sambhal (Health Care) and much more. He wrote couple of Punjabi Films: Duniya Matlab di (Selfish World). Now his son recently published book “Sehat Samasyavan da hall” in Punjabi & Hindi which is distributed free of cost to aware people about health.
Nothing in this work is improvised, or the product of mere inspiration, it is the result of more than Sixty Five years since (1944) of zealous and patient observation in his daily practice of Ayurvedic Herbal Medicines.

Ayurveda aims to find the balance between the three fundamental bodily humours or doshas. This is called the tridoshas. According to ayurveda, the three doshas are Vata, Pitta and Kapha:
1. Vata is the windy humor. It affects flatulence, gout, rheumatism etc.
2. Pitta is the bilious humor. Its main quality is the body heat and deals with the bile secreted between the stomach and bowels affecting digestion and metabolism.
3. Kapha deals with body fluids and relates to mucus, lubrication and carrier of nutrients.
Each dosha is further classified into 5 types.
Ayurveda has a holistic approach to general health, by considering physical existence, mental existence and personality during diagnosis and therapy.

Though Ayurvedic doctors use rare and unique herbs in treating ailments, there are also some very popular herbs which can be used every day to maintain good health, like - turmeric, garlic, ginger, Aloe Vera, tulsi, Ashawagandh, amla, brahmi.

Ayurveda is an ancient system of life (ayur) knowledge (veda) arising in India thousands of years ago. Ayurveda theory evolved from a deep understanding of creation. The great rishis or seers of ancient India came to understand creation through deep meditation and other spiritual practices. The rishis sought to reveal the deepest truths of human physiology and health.....

I’ve participated in a few Zoom tutorial/discussions on Ayurveda, first a few last summer and then another one this week. I find it really interesting, and am keen to find out more!
From the tutorials I’ve watched so far, I’ve identified both Pitta and Kapha qualities in myself, which I believe constitute my dominant character traits. But that particular journey of self-discovery is a work in progress, LOL.
I think it’s a really positive and logical belief system!
