There has only been one thing that spirits have actually asked me to do for them so far.
I've had several spirits ask me to tell someone that they are okay, or that they are sorry. That's all, just very basic requests.
Sometimes spirits also give messages through me after a connection has been made, but they really don't ask many questions or request many things of me.
