Once you get involved with telepathy it is like an addiction.
Some spiritual teachers say that our conduit for communication(telepathy) is our higher self. I tend to agree and encourage a love bond with the higher self. The link for one of my 4 web sites on that concept is in my forum signature.
I can appreciate the desire for a simple approace to this subject. Yet in actual reality, everything is connected. So how deeply you want to get into this area of interest does matter. The questions you ask are very understandable.
