I recall one radio pastor saying he thought Hollywood cinema and such was the grand illusion.
Seems to me that the illusion in these last days is about how "we are God", just as it talks about in the Bible, concerning the anti-Christ taking the seat in the temple, claiming to be the Almighty.
And secondary, that we can have true peace and well being through technology.
This will take hold for a short time globally, until Jesus returns, " in the clouds", and takes His rightful throne and authority.
Elsewhere in scripture, Paul speaks of clouds of witnesses in heaven, (Hebrews 12)
Which is probably what the Revelation scripture is referring to involving the Lord's return.
