I think it would be wise to just make your own choice on Loki. I mean yes he can be evil and cunning but like you've said he can be kind and positive to some. personally i have loki's son fenrir as my deity and it has both it's up and down's - he's helped bring out a more wolf like side i had as a kid but lost as i got older so it's good to have it back but my temper has slowly gotten worse when i once had got rid of it compltely but i know it's part of my true nature and i love being able to access it again.
