Magisk, without naming the hypnotist you visited, was s/he a member of a recognised professional hypnotist organisation, with a specialism in PLR? Some hypnotists claim to be able to do PLR, but are themselves sceptical of its "reality", saying that it does not matter whether the hypnotist him/herself believes in its validity. I do not belong to that school of thought, although it is alarmingly common.

For example, Steve G Jones has a lot of material on the net about PLR, but amongst his professional training material he has written a book in which he openly admits that he has considerable personal doubts about the objective reality of what people describe about past lives under hypnosis. But he adopts the position - and on that issue I strongly disagree - that it does not matter whether he believes in PLR or not, as long as the client feels that s/he has gained something.

I dispute this position, which is surprisingly common among hypnotists, because I think that sincerity is an essential element in hypnotism. To conduct a PLR on someone, whilst not believing the procedure possible of producing historical reality, is IMHO only a little short of intellectually dishonest. In any event, there are plenty of documented cases where people have recounted past lives under hypnosis and the details have been later independently confirmed. There is a lot on the net; a search of Google will show you.

The trouble is that some hypnotists have scientific, religious or philosophical objections to PLR - but this doesn't stop them from offering PLR to clients, sadly! The old claim is trotted out (as mentioned above) that "it doesn't matter what I think, as long as the client thinks that s/he has learned something".

Therein lies the problem. Such scepticism can find its way into the tone of voice, even the approach of the hypnotist. You need someone who really believes in what s/he is doing.

If you really want to explore PLR, it is better in my opinion to go a little bit deeper and look at life between lives (LBL). As a starting point, have a read of the book "Life Between Lives: Hypnotherapy for Spiritual Regression" by the renowned hypnotist Michael Newton. This is really written for hypnotist professionals, but it is so clearly written and so well researched (just look at the other books by him) that anyone, including non-professionals, could read it without too much difficulty.

I suggest that you go to a professional who:

personally accepts the objective reality of what is revealed under PLR/LBL;
is additionally qualified in that area of hynopsis;
is a member of an organisation which specialises in such work.

Here is one example: http://newtoninstitute.org/locate-a-therapist

Every best wish to you! BTW, I am not a member of that institute and have merely mentioned it to help you find a suitable person to help you.
