the afterlife is not known by finite logic just as mind and consciousness are not known in a similar manner. To know subjects beyond the jurisdiction of the finite mind and senses one turns to the dharma, the decree of the Godhead. The eightfold path of yoga is a system of vows/asana/meditation which transcends the mind. When the mind is transcended one enters higher states of consciousness. Eventually as one approaches enlightenment one begins to understand the purpose of this world and then understands the reality of the afterlife. By constant conjecture limited to finite logic the afterlife remains unknown.
