Astral playground is mainly inside our body. It's projecting inside, not travelling outside to see outside world. The consciousness is as your senses to see everything inside.
To experience NDEs, I don't know it's near sleeping or near death. I think it's like near trance. So it's hard to distinguish whether it's near sleep, near death or near trance....
I know when we shrink our consciousness to the astral playground inside a person can experience NDEs. Or truly death even a person isn't sick.
I can draw a cross in front of me as a blue light energy, it can be as my consciousness outside me to see the outside world. So whether our consciousness near a Brian inside or outside a Brian is highly depending on that person's dharma ability/technique. Of course I still have to use my third eyesight to see outside. And my consciousness outside and third eye inside have to connect as one.
