Thinking about them is the equivalent of picking up the phone when it rings - you establish two-way connection.
To awaken is to learn separation of the self and the mind/ego. Your ego is using this as a device to stay in control of the Self.

Very intuitive. It's absolutely an ego thing coupled with the fact I never forget/hold grudges. I also believe they were able to "steal" my energy because I was already in a vulnerable state due to depression. Which also makes shielding a little hard. Very rarely am I in a good positive mood so to speak. But I do like the staying busy and putting my mind to other things shield.
