The USA is a very odd place at the moment "from the outside looking in".
When I came over in 2009 for our honeymoon I noticed young women between 16-21 holidaying with their parents the same way as perhaps an 8 year old would. On one hand it's sweet but on another it looked claustrophobic.
In the UK those same girls/ women would have some freedoms to discover who they are in society - have relationships & vote.
My America is 1980's America- big cars, burgers, muscles & boobs yet we found out that a lot of it was essentially fake - myself & my friends took it less seriously after that.
Now you have youngsters led by old socialist teachers "demanding" all sorts as if their lives are as harsh or unprivileged as their grandparents.
I fear for your country,
victim hood appears to have become a status symbol. As fake as 80's America was - nobody wanted to be a victim.
Your attitude is delightful however & I wish there was more of it on this forum & out there in the world.
We can't all be rich or talented but it doesn't stop us having enriched lives as long as we take responsibility for ourselves & perhaps keeps away from those whom simply won't listen to reason.
