Ultimately it dissipated and I went on to become attuned to reiki level one. I have been working on my own energy for over a month now every single day with self-reiki and thus far it has been beneficial with some minor changes...old emotions surfacing in my dreams, strong verbal reactions where usually I'd keep my mouth shut, etc. However, recently there has been family turmoil (which I'm currently in the thick of) and I'm back to getting my old mysterious aches and pains...oh my, my legs feel soooo heavy! I'm thinking to myself, geez is that all it takes to put me back at square one? What about all the positive changes and self work I've been doing??
When I first studied reiki, I was told that it would lead to many uncertainties and changes in your life, good and bad. You pretty much just have to hang on for the ride. There is no knowing how long it will last but it will change you. You will go through difficult experiences, some of the things you like you will no longer like. The spiritual path which you are on will get rid of the old you that is no longer working, it will raise your vibration and you will attract new situations and people in your life that match your new energy vibration. Keep on working on yourself. That is important.

If you ever get reiki from another person again, I will recommend what my instructor recommends which is to drink plenty of water that whole week. It helps with the detox somehow.
