The quieter it is the more powerful, the worthier, the deeper, the more telling and more perfect the prayer is. To the quiet mind all things are possible. What is a quiet mind? A quiet mind is one which nothing weighs on, nothing worries, which, free from ties and from all self-seeking, is wholly merged into the will of God and dead to its own.”

― Meister Eckhart

From our standpoint there are two kinds of quiet mind. First is our own if we can manage to set aside for a few minutes the yearnings of the detached self. Second is that which we imagine belongs and operates from a spiritual plane which is above our own highest ability. We so often imagine such a place.

The second kind of quiet mind is that which is normally apparent on a plane above the divine. Here very few human beings have access or are functional on. The Master Jesus certainly was. At this level and above we would find, if we could manage it, a quality that we would not recognize as being mind at all. We might note that the product of this powerful force would be "will" of such a high nature that "all things would be possible".

To recap.... the quiet mind that is possible for us to attain is the first type. The quiet mind that we believe exists but cannot adequately define is the second. When considering such things remember the Universal Law of Correspondences.

Now take a look at the first comment regarding "timelessness". For a moment try to apply this idea to each of the quiet mind types. What happens? We would find a beginnings of agreement but the higher example would be without the "moment" of the lower. See? The reason for this is easy enough to understand. When considering anything esoteric never omit the quality of consciousness. As has been given this is an elemental principle. Meditate on the variations in consciousness and other questions will be answered.

Prayer has real power on any plane... because it is Will, born of Mind, directed as a Force, with Purpose.
