My purpose in life is to be a husband and a father. I don't do either of these things perfectly but by the same token, I don't do a bad job at either.
As a zen monk once said "before I became enlightened I chopped wood and fetched water and since I became enlightened I chop wood and fetch water."
P.S. I don't really think that I'm enlightened.
