First the easy answer, the so called ascended masters exist in a higher density then spirits who are in an incarnation cycle. There are no direct connections.
Spirits who are in an incarnation cycle either remain in the earth realms or in the astral realm, unless they are angelic or Fae.
In regards to the second question, a soul is never sorrowful, and so on, it is the spirit who has not transitioned, have not fully crossed over.
When a spirit is ready to fully cross over, from the earth realms to the astral realm, all experiences are downloaded, and the spirit is free. There still can be damage in the energy system which then can be healed.
