I found out that if you use your browser 'back' button when it gives you the server busy message, it will display the post you typed again in the edit window. Then if you wait a while you can try to repost it later. Saves a lot of rework... but is still annoying as all getout.
another trick is avoid the site like the plague at times it is likely to be busy
