Scientists worked out the big bang by reversing the expansion of the universe and finding the point where everything started in one place, but that place doesn't exist because the universe expands from every point, so that any observer is equally at the centre - that is, there is no centre per-se - much like there is no centre of the surface of a sphere.

There are many stories about the creation from different cultures, like The Dreamtime creation in Australia, where ancestor spirits made the natural features of the world and sky. It is a cohesive story in which all things are connected, for example, a flowering shrub marks the migration of a fish or the dark emu marks the emu's breeding cycle. Hence, unlike modern science, one can tell the details of ecological systems by looking at the sky or indeed, by looking closely at any one part of the ecology one can know the ecology as a whole.

Everything in the ecology has its place and provides information about the larger ecological system, the ecological system 'tells you', so everything in ecology is knowledge. The value system is centred on knowledge. The people do not value acquisitions, so the Law has no basis in property, and the knowledge is taught within the rituals, rites, songs and stories, and in all the facets of cultural practice - or IOW - everything the people do and everything the wildlife does, has a reason which is known.

When the ecology is disrupted and aspects of it destroyed, that is the destruction of knowledge and the need to know, and so much knowledge was lost that people don't know what to do, or why they do what they do. IOW, they have no reason, they are purposeless, and wander around aimlessly and confused.
