Christmas deaths are especially hard. I remember the owner of a hotel I was staying at. He went to pick his adult child at the airport on Christmas morning and hit some black ice and went spinning, hit the side of the road and flew through the windshield. Death on impact.
His surviving wife (she stayed home) was devastated. It's just not supposed to happen on such a happy, family oriented holiday. For some a holy day.
