Wow. You had quite the journey! 20 years- I'd be broken by the time that ended!
I think it may have to do with me being the runner majority of the time. I had thought he disliked me too, but one day, over a year later (during a separation, in fact), he told me that he had been trying to be my friend from the beginning. I guess I was already running when the whole thing had just started.
