No idea. My cats leave my crystals be, so I don't have that problem. My friend however has a cat that does the same thing...
Not sure what the reason is, my cats get to go outdoors a lot, my friend lives in an apartment, so her cat never gets to go outside. I suppose in such cases it is more tempting for a cat to find stuff indoors to play with, especially things that emanate energy. I have noticed that cats sure as heck do feel the energies of crystals and crystal skulls.
But somehow they got to get rid of their energy, which is a lot more difficult when a cat can't go outdoors.

As for a solution, I don't know. Maybe indeed 'behavioral' training, spraying it with water whenever it messes with things that aren't toys for cats.
I do have space cleared out on 1 window sill especially for the cats. They know that, I trained them they are not allowed to go on the window sills except for that one part. Cats do need to look outside, so they do need a 'window seat', and you have to cater for that.
As for cupboards etc... they're not allowed to go on their either, nor on the settees. Occasionally they do a sneaky, but in general they behave. But again, they do get to go outdoors so if they have an overdose of energy and need run, climb, fight and do the things cats do, they got plenty of space and opportunity to do so.
Indoors they mostly snooze, sleep, and eat.
