According to British traveling researcher, Adrien Gilbert, Orion is related to Hermes and Thoth, and referred to by the ancient Egyptians as, "The Son of man In the Sky".
Much has been written about the alignment of the three Pyramids of Giza, with Orions belt, in the constellation. Not just in Egypt either, but in the alignment of certain early native american cities founded in the west, and southwest U.S.A.
Much speculation also regarding the nature of Mars, as to it being an Earth like planet prior to losing it's atmosphere.
Then there are the various structures observed on it's surface, resembling Egyptian art and edifice, also.
