Whereas conventional tools effect a physical manipulation, an extension of the human hand, etc., this technology is really an attempt to replicate what could be called 'the externalizing mind'.
While there are some limited benefits, you'll find that everything it professes to accomplish is already an available capacity to human beings internally - often with greater facility, and without various pecuniary costs, sacrifices, and vulnerabilities associated with, and often conveniently overlooked or omitted by the purveyors and users of said technology.
