Hi Hannah.prisila. I believe our loved ones do visit us in our dreams, particularly in the more vivid dream experiences. Not sure what was happening when your mother just stood there but maybe it was more a dream about a part of you, or maybe she was having trouble coming through.
To invite her back I would talk to her and even sing to her especially just before you go to sleep. You can even (and this is a bit more out there) make gestures with your arms and body as you talk and sing and make sounds to her, as this will make the communication a more whole-body experience and whole-spirit experience. I once contacted a departed loved one by doing this while fully awake. All the best.
