Same exercises or variety- choosing exercises

I'm just starting to learn qigong and trying to learn how to do energy work. Unfortunately I don't have very much money, otherwise i'd enroll in a class. I've been looking at the ridiculously huge selection of exercise, and was wondering if I should find one solid routine or if I could have a different one for each day of the week. I know when exercising in a physical sense it's recommended that a person change his routine every so often, not only to counter tolerance, but variety ensures a being able to work certain angles.
