Believe it or not, you're not alone with this fear. I went through a period where I was pretty scared of people like that myself. Although I don't have a definite answer for you, I can give you an example of what probably caused part of my fear.
I recall a part of one life where
my religious convictions lead me to turn people in to the authorities for
their beliefs. And those people were tortured and killed. You may have had an experience that was similar...or you may have been on the 'receiving end' of such persecution by others. Those are just 'possiblities.'
