standing in the doorway

I had a NDE in December of 2004 following a surgery after my youngest son was born. I had a bad reaction to the anesthesia and they lost my vital signs and I had to be revived. For me, there was no bright tunnels of light or figures coming to help me cross, none of the stereotypical things you often hear about. Instead, I recall standing in the doorway watching the nurses and doctor scrambling to save me. I felt so much at peace that I was trying to yell at them to stop because I didn't want to go back. As they began using the defibrillator, I heard a voice saying that I had to go back because they weren't ready for me. Next thing I know I am waking up in the recovery room and hearing the nurse telling me that I had given them quite a scare. I suppose it's different for everyone, but that is my story.
